My NYTC Goals
I will look great for my husband's 40th in late February.
I will regain my pre-pregnancy (after second bub) weight of 58kg.
I will lose another 5cm off my waist.

Yes, yes and yes!

I'm on a real high at the end of this challenge and not least because I've achieved and surpassed my goals. I'm really, really happy, at a place I haven't been for a long time. I'm enjoying life, enjoying my relationships. I've got energy, spirit and an enthusiasm for my job as a stay at home mum. I've made some beautiful friends (tears!) here and count that as my greatest achievement.

What I'm liking most is that my results have been constant. Over the 12 weeks I saw changes every 4 weeks when I measured and weighed, and doing fym for 5 weeks previous to starting and also having good results, I wasn't sure what to expect. Every 4 weeks I reviewed my calorie intake and moved onto a new workout. I'm really pleased that I was able to adjust my calories to allow for weaning my now 14 month old baby who is now down to one feed a day (or even every second day).

The nutrition side of things has been a real bonus for my family. I'm doing this as if it's what I've always done, was always supposed to do, and my body is loving it. My husband has also lost 5kg, and I love that I can lead by example for the kids, showing them that we don't have treats EVERY day, fruit and yoghurt can be dessert, and of course everyone does exercise.

One of my goals was to eat clean now to try and ward off any potential cancers in the future, and I am now eating a very similar diet to Mum while she was having treatment, albeit with a few planned indulgences! So I'm really happy about that.

I recently completed 16 weeks of the fym program and said this:

~ I do intervals because they make me feel good, energized and in control.
~ I do fym workouts because I can feel them reshaping my body with every single session.
~ I eat supportively and regularly as it agrees with me.
~ I don't get hungry (unless I forget to eat!!)
~ I don't have cravings and I REALLY enjoy my treats when I decide I'm going to have them.
~ I want health first, and a trim and toned body is the bonus.
~ I believe that just as food can be the culprit it can also be the saviour. I feel like a well maintained machine.

Looking around my house there are so many examples of where I've chosen good quality products trying to improve results, like in the laundry where I use good washing powder, in-wash stain booster and fabric softener, rather than just cheap washing powder.

Now I can see I was putting inferior refined foods into my body and expecting results. Equally I thought giving myself even less of these foods would achieve weight loss, but none of this was true.

Supportive nutrition gives my body the fuel it needs for energy and growth, the nutrients and water it needs to function at top condition and in a state that allows excess weight I've accumulated over the years to be shed.

I am fully committed to being a fym for life. I've given away all of my BIG clothes, I'm not going to need them again. I've just bought a size 6 pair of jeans (US 2). But I still have more to work on. I want to firm and tone, which will come with continued workouts, and I have to work on my self-confidence.

Taking my after photos I was disappointed and thought there was little change - until I saw them side by side. I see other mums at school or out shopping and am always comparing, thinking 'she's smaller than me'.

While the challenge has been a great motivator for me I'm ready to focus on something more spiritual, and learn to love my body.

Thanks to all of the lovely girls and Holly who have supported me through this NYTC.
My husband says the best change has been the line down my back!

Cheers,
