Okay, so I could tell that my body was starting to go through some changes, especially during the later part of the challenge, but I wasn’t really expecting the results that I achieved.
I weighed and measured after about 4 weeks into this challenge and was feeling very defeated at that time. I let go of that and decided not to focus on those numbers but follow the program and focus on my nutrition and my workouts.
This was not an easy challenge for me. I went through a lot personally. My Mom basically almost died a few months ago so I was spending a lot of time traveling back and forth to see her and just recently my daughter has really started to have some horrific temper tantrums that have been taking up a great deal of my time. Not to mention the emotional drain all these different events have had but, with all of that to say, I am so PROUD of myself and my results.
About a month ago we went on a trip to San Antonio and to be honest I ate so horribly. Probably the worst since joining FYM in January so when we returned I felt the need to get all that crap out of my body.
I decided to eat 100% clean until the end of the challenge about 14 days. I put a calendar on my refrigerator and would mark an X every night before bed if I accomplished the goal. This meant no processed foods and especially NO BLT’s (bites, licks or tastes).
Well I did it!!!
I also focused on my workouts even though this was not 100% the way I wanted them to be because of home life disruptions but I didn’t allow those to get me down and keep me from my goals. I just had to roll with the punches and my daughter has learned how to work out with me. I really do feel the clean eating towards the end is what made the difference for me.
I hear Holly say it all the time but now I know firsthand. The cleaner I eat, the more quickly my body will respond and the leaner I will start to look. I have started noticing clothes being looser in the waist and in the legs.
The other major thing that I have noticed about the FYM lifestyle is that not only is it changing me physically, it really helped me emotionally during the past few months.
I believe I would have been completely wiped out and drained during these difficult times if it was not for the healthy eating going into my body and the exercising. This has helped me to have the strength and energy to be able to calmly help my daughter go through this difficult time in her life. I am up a lot at night and still have the energy to go the next day.
I am so thankful for this program. I know that I don’t have to weigh what I use to and that is okay. It is not really all about these numbers. I did not weigh or measure again after that 1 time during the challenge and that too makes a huge difference. I didn’t have to since I continue to become more and more in tune with my body I knew the changes were happening without having to see the numbers, I could just feel them.
I was surprised though when I pulled up my starting stats. I didn’t think I lost that many inches so that is amazing. My goal is what is has been since I found this program. To the healthiest and happiest me I can be. I don’t care about being “skinny”, I want to be strong.
And I am! I am strong physically, emotionally and mentally. Here‘s to the next challenge, ready to take you on in August!!!!!
